Hi Everyone!!
The rain will quit!!! (maybe???) We had 2 ½ in of rain on Monday night. Everything was under water but fairly dried out by the weekend.. Our weekend was pretty good!! Only a couple of quick showers otherwise good weather. By the way down in Hutchinson on Thursday night we got 4 ½ inches in one “shower” Then we only got another inch on Friday. So Bemidji is not the only place with wet.
We had several “loads” of people on the hayless hayride on Friday night. The hayride seems to be popular every time it is offered. Saturday night bingo was a huge turnout again…. You would think that you could win a million dollars at bingo. Everyone wants to be there. Talk about luck – Shelly Aamodt got a bingo with only 6 numbers called!!! That should be worth a million dollars.
All of the Vikings fans crowded into the office to watch the Vikings win on Saturday night also. I watched it. Kind of boring without Brett there yet.. Superbowl with Brett this year!!!!!
We heard there were some questions on the leases. I will be there this weekend to answer any questions that anyone has on the lease. If you have an issue, we will see if we can work it out..
Pancake Breakfast Saturday Morning!!!!
$4.00 for adults and $2.00 for children. From 9 am to 10:30 AM Want to help?? Come and help. Volunteers meet at the Rec room at 8:00 AM. Come and enjoy.

Wow – another Great weekend. No downpours this weekend!!!
First a special thanks to Laureen Nyborg and her work in our flowers out in front of the office. Thanks to you and everyone like you that takes pride in Summer Haven!!
Volleyball was a huge hit this weekend!! Much fun Very competitive. Lots of people participating. Great weather helps.
Panfish are still hitting on the lake and a lot are being cleaned in the fish house. If you have never gone fishing on Gull Lake for pan fish – try it. You will love it!!
We understand that those that attended the Dragon boat races in Bemidji had a great time. They look forward to that event next year.
We have the seasonal leases just about ready. You should be able to pick them up next week. We are going to open up 5-6 sites on the lake for seasonal this year. Our current seasonal will have first choice. Let Steve, Paul or Duane know if you are interested in moving to the lake.   If anyone is not coming back, please let us know as soon as possible as we have a waiting list for seasonal lots.
Stop in and meet our newest employee, KristaKrista will be helping Matt and Kelly out in the office. We welcome her to Summer Haven.
Notice: 4 wheelers have been cutting through the road by Summer Haven West and onto our property. They have been tearing up the road by Summer Haven West. We think these 4 wheelers are coming from outside the campground – and not from our campground. Residents in the area have complained to the county sheriff as the roads and ditches are getting rutted up. Be aware that the county sheriff will be patrolling the road by Summer Haven West looking for 4 wheelers. They will be ticketing 4 wheelers in that area.
This weekend Paul will be your host!!

Another Great Weekend at Summer Haven RV Resort.!!!

Our weekend started out on a downer with some rain on Friday evening, but Saturday more than made up for the slow start. Saturday was almost perfect, after another Friday night of rain. Our campground is a little soggy in places.

On Saturday a group went 4 wheeling. Paul and Matt let me go with the group. My wife and I had a great time with this group 4 wheeling. We left the park and wheeled right on down to Black Lake Road and rode back onto some of the logging trails. We were lead by the fearless trio of Mike Fisher, Ron Kaiser, and Joel Mayer. What I remember most is the amount of time getting Jon Nyborg’s 4 wheeler out of the mud – many many times!!! Just kidding it was only many times. Mike F. and John and many others were wet up to their wastes helping us all get through!! Great time.

Panfishing has been great. We have seen many limits of panfish come out of the lake. We had a group, that caught their 15 sunfish and they talked Kelly (our office employee) into cleaning them. (I did not know Kelly hadn’t cleaned a fish in a long long time) I got her an electric knife and she went to work. Got them done!! Great job of taking care of our guests Kelly.

Paul had bingo Saturday night. The place was packed again!!! Great fun Paul.

These were only a few of the great things we saw happening this weekend. (volleyball – basketball – shuffle board – ladder golf – horseshoes – boating – swimming – and just sitting around the campfire –and the Beltrami County Fair and the Blackduck Woodcarver event - wow!!! So much to do so little time to do it. We also celebrated Matt’s ( our office employee’s 21st birthday. Happy Birthday Matt.

The campground has been mostly full every weekend. Call early if you are looking for a site. I believe that we have 2-3 sites left for labor day.

Seasonals; We are working on the contract for next year. We hope to have it ready by August 15. We have a WAITING list right now for next year’s seasonal sites. I believe there were about 6 already on the list. If you are thinking of a seasonal, get on our list.

Next weekend..
Don’t miss the Dragon boat races in Bemidji this coming weekend. We hear it is great fun to watch. Also listed below are our activities for the weekend.

We are giving Paul a little more time off on weekends. Steve will be you host this weekend.

Also, July Electric bills are in, please stop in the office.

Thanks, we hope you have a great week

Hello

Wow – What a nice weekend after the rain down pours of Thursday and Friday night. The weather Saturday and Sunday was PERFECT!! The down pours really rutted up our roads. We will get some gravel hauled in and get them back to normal over the next weeks. As you noticed, our campground was full again!! What a great time for everyone. The smell of breakfasts cooking all over the campground in the morning is fantastic..

Everyone was having a great time – especially the people out fishing. We saw lots of nice sunfish, northern, and walleyes being cleaned in the fish house. One camper commented “ I have NEVER seen such large sunfish in my life!!! And the fishing was GREAT”
Steve and I helped Paul out this weekend and gave him a weekend out of town. We hope that Paul used the time to rest up and relax.
Scott and Ruth Smith (Lot 84) just got in the last couple of weeks for the rest of the summer. We welcome them back. I just heard that Jerry and Pat Ring (lots 25 & 38) are also back for the summer. We also said goodbye to Todd and Laura Scofield  (lot 4)for the summer. They headed back to Texas on Monday and closed up their camper for winter. We are still trying to talk them into a short stay this fall again. Dr Bill Johnson (lots 1 & 2) has been in the hospital for several weeks. We wish Bill and his wife Sharon well. We also welcome our new seasonals that have just joined us for the rest of the summer. We have NO more seasonal sites left on the main campground!!!

If you are thinking of camping at Summer Haven, get your reservations in early. We have been sold out the last few weekends and have had to turn people away..

Hello!

WOW!! What a weekend to be at Summer Haven!  Miraculously we avoided most of the rain and Tim Eggebraaten put on another great show for us this year.We had a great turn out for the pork roast this year, around 250 people attended with a lot of great food.

The weekend will be a little scary, both Duane and Steve will be up…”AHHH” Duane will be running around on the Golf cart breaking things and causing a ruckus, and Steve chasing after him and fixing everything in his path.  So don’t be surprised if you see an explosion… it’s probably Duane trying to fix something.

This is Matt in the office, giving everyone a fair warning to what could happen! I’m taking off this weekend to hide from the path of destruction, every man, woman and child for themselves.

But, Duane and Steve were not able to spend as much time up here this year as they would of liked due to personal and family things.  They are really excited to see everyone this weekend, and hope you stop in and say hello, Steve will be on Lot 3 in the cabin, and Duane will be on lot 113 in the woods… If I haven’t pushed his camper into the lake by than.

Wanted: Summer Haven families to be the “Summer Haven Family of the Week”.  Please stop by the office for a family photo so we can feature your family in our newsletter.

Please stop by and look at our lost and found, after this next weekend we will be cleaning house. What ever is left will be donated.

IMPORTANT: To keep everyone safe, Effective July 21, 2010 you must be 14 years or older to operate an ATV or golf cart in the resort.  If you see anyone operating an ATV or golf cart in an unsafe manner please call the office with the number that on the back of the ATV or golf cart.
