Shows for Summer Haven

Hi evertyone!!
Just a note reminding you that we will be at the Minneapolis RV show Feb 5 - Feb 8 at the Convention Center in Down town Minneapolis. We are pretty much ready!! We have our brochures printed and are looking forward to talking camping again!!
Two weeks later we will be at Grand Forks Alerus center (Feb 20-Feb 22) This show is kind of a mixed up situation. It was going to be sponsored by the Grand Forks Herald. They decided to drop the show and the radio stations picked up this show. I don’t know how much this one will be advertised, but you will be getting more info from us on this one.

We take our job extremely seriously. We are focused on creating a family friendly environment that is safe and fun. We are dedicated to make Summer Haven RV Resort the best it can be. We need your help. Below is a list of potential activities/ improvements, what would you take part in at Summer Haven?
List of potential activities/ improvements:

Organized game night(s) like Bingo, cards, cribbage etc.?

Community fire pit for scheduled gatherings (marshmallow and popcorn roasting, story telling, guitar playing, singing)?

Non-denominational prayer service on Sunday mornings?

Coffee and Roll socials maybe on Wed and Saturday mornings?

Kids activities like: scavenger hunts, craft time, movie night?

Hayrides?

Karaoke?

Golf cart obstacle course?

Golf, horseshoe, shuttle board, bean bag toss tournaments?

A little bit about us, we currently live in Melrose, MN (30 miles West of St. Cloud and 30 miles East of Alexandria on I-94). Paul is a licensed Real Estate Broker and Residential Appraiser. We own several rental properties including a mobile home park and we also own and operate H2O Day Spa of Melrose. Michele oversees the Spa and Paul manages the rental properties. We are happy to delegate our duties in Melrose to relocate to the caretakers house at Summer Haven. We have been searching for an opportunity to own and operate a family orientated RV resort. We feel this environment will be ideal for raising our children.

Hi, We are the Hughes’

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
We would like to introduce ourselves! We are the Hughes’- Paul, Michele, Alison (age 6), Megan (Age 4) and Katelin (Age 2 ½).
Last fall, we camped at Summer Haven. It only took 1 weekend… and we fell in love with the place! So much, that we asked Duane and Steve how we could be involved in the management/ownership. We talked at length, met several times….. and we now own a very, very small part of Summer Haven RV Resort (1 share to be exact!). We are so delighted to be part owners of the most wonderful place on earth. Don’t worry, you haven’t gotten rid of Steve and Duane. They will still be around, Duane assured us that he will still do what he does best…. Drive around on a golf cart and break things and Steve will still be there to fix everything Duane breaks!!

Lots of Snow at the Campground
January 3, 2009
My wife and I went to the campground yesterday (Friday Jan 2) and there is lots of snow!! There is around 18 inches of nice fluffly snow. We took our snowmobile and rode around the camground. Everything looks great at the campground!!
We also visited with Mike and Misty Fisher in Lot 94 and with Jay Seitz while we were in the Bemidji area. Jay has a fishhouse set up and is trying to catch some fish. He reports that there is a lot of slush on the lake because of the heavy snow cover. He also has not done well fishing yet, but others are catching fish out by the bar off to the SE of our campground.
